Sensei Anthony Evangelista has trained in Kyokushin Karate for over 35 years, opening his first dojo in Vancouver in 2007. Now, that experience finds a new home at Ascent Dojo in Surrey, BC.

What is Kyokushin Karate?
Kyokushin is a traditional, full-contact style of karate founded in Japan in 1964, built on discipline, respect, and personal growth. At Ascent Dojo, we teach it in a structured, supportive environment for students of all ages and experience levels, from first-time beginners to advanced practitioners. Ascent Dojo is affiliated with the International Karate Organization Kyokushinkaikan (Canada), or IKOK-C, and participates in its events under the name Newton Kyokushin Karate.
